Iron & Aluminum Railings

Iron & Aluminum Railings

The historic city of Philadelphia is covered in beautiful old-world wrought iron fences, gates, and railings. At Northeast Fence & Iron Works, we’re happy to carry on that tradition by producing some of the most elegant and functional wrought iron railings in the region. By using advanced processes and communicating closely with our clients in order to meet their demands, we’ve been installing high-quality railings for over 30 years.

At Northeast Fence and Iron Works, we can build absolutely any type of railing in steel or aluminum. Our experts are well-versed in IBC, IRC, and ADAA codes, and are even equipped to design railings that require easy installation with no on-site welding required.

Types of Railing

What exactly is the difference between wrought iron railings and standard iron railings, or even aluminum railings? In terms of their structure, wrought iron is lower in carbon than cast iron. Wrought iron also has a bit more grain in its appearance. This contributes to an old-world feel that’s particularly at home in historic cities like Philadelphia. Cast iron, on the other hand, can provide a slightly more modern look that may appeal to other customers.

Another option you might prefer is the use of aluminum railings, which are extremely durable and can stand up to a great deal of wear and weather. These aluminum railings can even be made to look similar to wrought iron railings through the design process.

Selecting the right railing for you will depend largely on the application, location of the railings, and your personal preference.

The Northeast Fence Difference

Each of our wrought iron railings is powder coated, which is a process of coating the railings in a protective substance that makes them extremely resistant to corrosion and wear over time. This is particularly important for outdoor railings that are constantly exposed to the elements.

Distinct, Rugged, Pristine

The Crystalline Series railing first started as just an idea. With some collaborative ingenuity and perseverance, our team here at Northeast Fence & Iron Works soon turned an idea into what is now the company’s most meritable custom railing. We can now proudly incorporate this visually stunning rail into our list of available products. Our primary goal was to give our customers the pride of knowing and owning the only rail of its kind in the entire market. What separates this rail from all others is its unique and original design. We are the only manufacturer and vendor of it. This railing combines a smooth and polished top rail, frame, pickets, and posts, all constructed with aluminum. Aluminum will allow the rail to be lightweight while still maintaining a strong and durable exterior. For added diversity and elegance, we included the lustrous glass blocks as part of the frame to achieve the Crystalline Series name. Finally, a glistening powder coat finish is then applied to the railing to create its luxurious, polished appearance.

  • We can offer ANY color of your choice for the railing with our custom powder coating facility!

Aluminum Railings

Railings – Often highly visible and critical for the safety of visitors to your home or business, an iron railing must be both visually appealing and structurally sound.

NF&I aluminum railings offer many significant advantages over traditional steel or wood railing systems. Aluminum railing systems will never corrode, which makes them perfect for high humidity areas. Aluminum railings are also light weight compared to wood and steel railings which allows for a much easier setup and installation process. View more railing images on our image gallery page.
